2008 The 4th International China Senior College (Shanghai) Exhibition
The Summary Report of Spring Exhibition |
Under the supports of some international and national universities, many countries in Shanghai Consulate, the news medium and HSBC, 2008 the 4th International Senior College (Shanghai) Exhibition (Spring) convened successfully, and gained great achievements in the Shanghai library.
At home, about 100 famous Universities were invited eg. Peking University, Beijing Jiaotong University, NANKAI University, Wuhan University, Zhejiang University, Shanghai University, Sun Yat-sen University, Hunan University, Xiamen University, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong Education Institute. 55 international universities were also invited, eg: Korea University, HANYANG University, Kyung Hee University, Assumption University, Trinity College Dublin, Guildford College, University of Otago, Chichester College, and national universities. The successful convention of the Exhibition was also gained the great supports of some institutions and organizations such as: International Education Foundation of America, WZT Overseas Education & Consulting Service Center, the Shanghai branch of HSBC Co.Ltd, Federation Express Co.Ltd, etc.
During this period, some well-known mainstream media reported the exhibition and gave a high appraisal of its successful convention. More than 80.000 students and parents, out of which students were 30% and parents were 70%, were attracted to visit the Spring Exhibition and consult their concerns. Especially, they showed great concerns on how to apply for the Bachelor¡¯s Degree.

Most of the principles from the recruitment office of the famous Universities were on the spot.
The consultation meeting had welcomed and witnessed some well-known national universities among the ¡°211 project Universities¡± such as Peking University, Qinghua University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Astronautics Aviation University, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University Hunan University, Zhongshan University, Shanghai University, etc. The principles from the recruitment office of these famous Universities answered some questions and explained the 2008 recruitment plans on the spot.
The universities in Hong Kong area were still competitive as before.
The Hong Kong University and the Hong Kong Education Institute held the explanation meeting on the spot and introduced in details the abundant educational resources, school characteristic and employment prospect of Hong Kong.
Some international universities showed strong desire hoping to recruit the excellent senior graduating students.
The Exhibition also attracts many international famous universities from various countries such as: Philippines, Korean, Ireland, Thailand, Italian, American, Germany, etc. Especially, some topped international Universities such as: HanYang University in South Korea, Assumption University in Thailand, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland, and Newcastle College in England were among them.
Internationalizations
The number of the international colleges taking part in the Exhibition is nearing to that of the national Universities at home, and thus it¡¯s more likely that an exhibition which ¡°studying abroad¡± was opening up. Besides some competitive studying abroad countries as American, England, Japanese, Korean, etc., many less competitive studying abroad countries such as: Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Thailand, Philippines also introduce their schools in public. Many of them were to recruit Chinese students for the first time .
The HSBC provide the finance support and services for the Shanghai students to study in Hong Kong
